Syndicate Legal Advisory Services prepares accounting schedules and the court’s accounting forms from the fiduciary’s records and figures, and organizes the fiduciary’s documents.

What’s included:

  • Jurisdiction table check. Using our state table, we give the fiduciary the state’s own published rules on when an accounting is required, who must receive notice, whether waivers are allowed, the required format, and the forms.
  • Case and letters record. The fiduciary supplies the file-stamped letters, the case number, the court, the date of death or appointment, and the accounting period.
  • Intake and information gathering. A structured questionnaire records the fiduciary’s own statements: the names and addresses of the fiduciary, heirs, beneficiaries, and creditors as listed in the court file, the period covered, and the fiduciary’s own explanation of unusual transactions.
  • Receipts and disbursements ledger. From the fiduciary’s bank statements, checks, receipts, and invoices, we enter each transaction by date, payee or source, amount, and the fiduciary’s own description, and group entries under the schedule categories in the court’s published format.
  • Asset schedules. We prepare the fiduciary’s own figures for assets on hand at the start and end of the period, including values supplied by the fiduciary from appraisals, statements, or the inventory filed in the case.
  • Reconciliation worksheet. We prepare the arithmetic reconciliation the format requires (opening balance plus receipts, less disbursements, equals closing balance) and flag any difference to the fiduciary.
  • Court forms and schedules. We prepare the court’s accounting forms or the court-approved schedule format from the ledger and asset schedules, with the fiduciary’s own entries, in the court’s required format. Where the state requires a petition for settlement or a report, we prepare it only if a court form exists and fits the fiduciary’s stated facts.
  • Compensation information. We give the fiduciary the state’s published description of how fees and commissions are set.
  • Distribution schedule (if applicable). From a plan of distribution the fiduciary states is set by the will, or the court, we prepare the schedule.
  • Waiver and consent forms (where the state allows). If the beneficiaries have agreed to waive the accounting, we prepare the state’s own waiver form from the parties’ statements. Each beneficiary reviews and signs personally.
  • Notice and service information. We provide a neutral checklist of the court’s published rules on who must receive notice of the hearing and how, and the proof of service forms. The fiduciary or an adult non-party completes service. We do not serve.
  • Document organization. We organize the fiduciary’s own records (letters, will, inventory, appraisals, bank and brokerage statements, receipts, invoices, tax returns, correspondence with heirs, and court orders) into a labeled file.
  • Filing packet. We provide a printed or digital packet with the prepared account, copy and signature instructions, and the court’s published filing procedures. The fiduciary reviews, signs under penalty of perjury, and files.
  • After-filing checklist. A neutral list, from the court’s public guidance, of the steps that follow: notice, objections, a hearing, a court order, distributions, receipts from beneficiaries, and closing.
  • Review and revisions. We make revisions you request to the prepared documents before signing, within the review rounds in your package, only on the fiduciary’s instruction and only to match the fiduciary’s records.
