Syndicate Legal Advisory Services prepares statutory powers of attorney nationwide.

What’s included:

  • Principal-only interview and capacity and pressure screen. Before drafting, the preparer speaks with the principal alone and records the principal’s own answers to neutral written questions in the Drafting Notes. The agent or any family member does not attend, direct, or pay unless the principal consents in writing to the payment arrangement.
  • Stop-screen (mandatory, before any preparation). A neutral written questionnaire asks the principal the items listed in Drafting Notes. A “yes” or “unsure” ends the service for that item and we refer the principal to an estate planning or elder law attorney.
  • Jurisdiction table check. Using our state table, we give the principal the state’s own published rules and statutory form, the signing formalities, and any required warning language.
  • Intake and information gathering. A structured questionnaire records the principal’s own statements: the principal’s name, address, and date of birth, the agent’s and any successor agent’s name and address.
  • Form completion. From the principal’s selections, we prepare the state’s statutory form, or an attorney-supplied form, with the powers the principal checks, any limits the principal writes, the effective date selection (immediately, or on a stated event if the form allows it), and the agent designations, exactly as the principal states them.
  • Agent acknowledgment (if the state requires one). We prepare the agent’s acceptance page or notice of duties, where the state provides one, for the agent to read and sign.
  • Signing packet. We prepare the signature page, the state’s required notary acknowledgment or witness blocks, and any statutory warning. The principal signs personally. We do not witness, notarize, or sign for anyone, and the principal is told that the notary or witnesses must not be the agent or a person with an interest.
  • Safe handling notice. A neutral written notice, drawn from public guidance, that the original should be kept safe, that the principal may give copies to financial institutions in advance, and that the principal can revoke it in writing and should notify the agent and institutions.
  • Real property use information (optional). If the principal asks, we provide the state’s published information on recording a power of attorney for a real estate transaction. We do not prepare deeds or record anything under this service.
  • Revocation form (optional, principal’s request only). We prepare the state’s revocation form or a written revocation from the principal’s own statements, signed by the principal.
  • Document organization. We organize the principal’s own documents (ID, existing estate documents, account lists the principal chooses, and prior powers of attorney) into a labeled file.
  • Review and revisions. We make revisions you request to the typed forms before signing, within the review rounds in your package, only on the principal’s instruction.
