Syndicate Legal Advisory Services prepares the client’s official forms for a legal separation and organizes the client’s documents.
What’s included:
- Intake and information gathering. A structured questionnaire records the client’s own statements: both spouses’ names and addresses, the date of marriage, the date of separation as the client states it, the children’s names and birthdates, and the court county.
- Petition preparation. From the client’s statements, we prepare the petition (for example, California FL-100, with the summons FL-110), including the client’s selections of the requested orders, such as property and debt division, custody and parenting time, child support, and spousal support, exactly as the client chooses them.
- Children’s forms. If the client has minor children, we type the UCCJEA declaration, and, for any custody or support request, the related forms as the client directs.
- Financial disclosure forms. We prepare the client’s own figures onto the Declaration of Disclosure, the Schedule of Assets and Debts, and the Income and Expense Declaration.
- Settlement agreement or judgment forms (if the spouses agree). From terms the client reports are agreed, we type the marital settlement agreement and the judgment, and the related attachments.
- Default or uncontested judgment forms (if applicable). If the other spouse does not respond, we prepare the forms the court requires (for example, a request to enter default and a declaration for default or uncontested judgment) from the client’s statements.
- Service of process information. We provide a neutral checklist of the court’s published rules on who may serve papers and how, and the proof of service forms for the client or the server to complete. We do not serve, and the client may not serve the papers personally.
- Document organization. We organize the client’s own documents (marriage certificate, financial statements, tax returns, pay stubs, property records, loan statements, retirement account statements, and any existing agreements or orders) into a labeled file.
- Fee waiver forms (optional). If the client requests, we type the client’s own answers on the court’s fee waiver forms. We do not advise on eligibility.
- Filing packet. We provide a printed or digital packet with the prepared forms, copy and signature instructions, and the court’s published filing procedures (in person, by mail, or e-filing). The client signs and files.
- After-filing checklist. A neutral list, from the court’s public guidance, of the steps that follow filing: service, the response period, disclosures, any hearing, and the judgment. We do not advise on what these mean or how to respond.
- Review and revisions. We make revisions you request to the typed forms before signing, within the review rounds in your package.
