Syndicate Legal Advisory Services provides nationwide legal document preparation services for entities preparing applications for a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) Designated Port Exception Permit under Form 3-200-2. We prepare the application form and related supporting materials based on the entity information, shipment details, and specific instructions you provide.

Documents Commonly Prepared

We prepare documents associated with a USFWS Designated Port Exception Permit Application, including:

  • Designated Port Exception Permit Application (FWS Form 3-200-2): Completion of the application covering the applicant’s identity, requested non-designated port(s), description of the wildlife or wildlife products, basis for the exception (scientific purposes, to minimize deterioration or loss, or to alleviate undue economic hardship), and other required information, based on the information you supply.

  • Supporting Documentation Organization: Organization of written statements and supporting materials justifying the exception criteria based on the documents and information you supply.

  • Amendments or Updates: Preparation of amended applications or updates incorporating corrections, based on the corrected or updated details you provide.

Documents are prepared for electronic submission through the USFWS ePermits system or for paper submission as applicable. A Designated Port Exception Permit authorizes the import or export of wildlife at a non-designated port under limited circumstances (scientific purposes, to minimize deterioration or loss of the wildlife, or to alleviate undue economic hardship), provided Service officers are available for inspection; for commercial shipments, a valid Import/Export License is also required; the permit may be valid for up to two years; an application fee of $100 applies for a new permit or renewal (and $50 for an amendment); foreign applicants must designate a U.S. agent; clients remain fully responsible for determining the permitting requirements, the accuracy and completeness of all information and supporting materials, timely submission and fee payment, coordination with port inspectors, payment of applicable inspection fees, and compliance with 50 C.F.R. Parts 13 and 14.
