Syndicate Legal Advisory Services provides nationwide legal document preparation services for entities preparing applications for Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Operating Authority, identified as an MC Number (motor carrier), FF Number (freight forwarder), or MX Number (Mexico-domiciled carrier). We prepare the application forms and related supporting materials based on the entity information, operation details, and specific instructions you provide.
Documents Commonly Prepared
We prepare documents associated with a Federal FMCSA Operating Authority Application, including:
Operating Authority Application (OP-1 Series Forms): Completion of the applicable form (such as OP-1 for motor property carrier and broker authority, OP-1(FF) for freight forwarder, OP-1(P) for passenger carrier, OP-1(MX) for Mexico-domiciled long-haul, or OP-2 for commercial zone) covering the applicant’s identity, type of authority requested, operations, and other required information, based on the information you supply.
Supporting Materials Organization: Organization of government-issued identification, business formation documents, or other required supporting items based on the documents and information you supply.
Updates or Additional Authority Materials: Preparation of materials for additional authority or updates based on the corrected or updated details you provide.
Documents are prepared for electronic submission through the FMCSA Unified Registration System or Motus portal or for paper submission as applicable. Operating Authority is generally required for for-hire interstate transportation of regulated commodities or passengers (distinct from a USDOT Number); a non-refundable application fee of $300 applies for each type of authority; applicants must arrange for insurance filings (such as BMC-91/91X) and a Designated Process Agent (BOC-3) to be on file with FMCSA; new entrants are subject to the New Entrant Safety Assurance Program; clients remain fully responsible for determining the authority requirements, the accuracy and completeness of all information, timely submission and fee payment, satisfaction of insurance and process agent conditions, and compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and 49 C.F.R. Part 365.
